Role Overview
Registration volunteers are the first point of contact for conference attendees. This role is essential to creating a welcoming and organized experience. Volunteers will greet participants, check them in, distribute name badges and materials, and provide basic directions or information about the event.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome and check in attendees upon arrival
- Distribute name badges, programs, and other conference materials
- Answer general questions and provide directions to sessions or event areas
- Assist with on-site registration as needed
- Maintain an organized registration table and restock materials when necessary
- Direct attendees to appropriate staff for additional assistance
Qualifications
- Friendly, professional, and approachable demeanor
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Comfortable using a check-in system (training provided)
- Ability to remain calm and helpful during busy times

Volunteer Role: Runners – Winter Conference
Role Overview
Runners provide on-the-ground support to ensure the conference runs smoothly. This role is flexible and dynamic, assisting staff, speakers, and attendees with a variety of tasks throughout the event. Runners are key to keeping schedules on track and ensuring a positive attendee experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver messages and materials between conference staff, speakers, and session rooms
- Assist with set-up and tear-down of breakout sessions and event spaces
- Provide directions and guide attendees to meeting rooms as needed
- Support speakers with last-minute needs (e.g., handouts, water, AV support requests)
- Respond quickly to on-site requests and fill in where additional help is required
Qualifications
- Flexible, reliable, and able to adapt to changing needs
- Friendly and professional demeanor when interacting with attendees and speakers
- Comfortable walking throughout the venue and carrying light materials
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
